Live-in Care Professional
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire – successful candidate must live locally (no further than 1 hour away)
Reporting To: Registered Care Manager
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £900 per week + £50 per week food allowance – this also includes travel expenses
About the Role
Radfield Home Care is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and professional Live-in Care Professional to join our growing team.
As a Live-in Care Professional, you will live in a client's home and provide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and wellbeing. Every client is unique, and your responsibilities will be tailored to their individual needs as outlined in their Care Plan.

Key Information
Daily break of 2 hours
Minimum commitment of a 2-week on / 2-week off rotation
Right to work in the UK required
Non-smoker preferred
Comfortable working within a shared household environment
Ability to support a client living alongside their partner where required
Able to supply 2 recent employment references and 2 character references
What We're Looking For
Physically able to meet the demands of care work, including bending, lifting, stretching, kneeling, walking, stair use, and manual handling activities.
Emotionally resilient and able to manage the challenges associated with care work, including supporting clients through illness, bereavement, and complex situations.
Caring, patient, compassionate, and respectful.
Self-motivated, organised, and flexible.
Able to work independently and as part of a wider care team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
Ability to prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals.
Relevant Care qualifications
Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Previous experience within live-in care or the wider health and social care sector.
Main Responsibilities
Personalised Care & Support
Provide person-centred care in accordance with individual Care Plans.
Support clients with daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.
Assist with mobility and the safe use of equipment and aids.
Equipment May Include:
Walking and standing aids
Wheelchairs
Manual and electric hoists
Sliding sheets and transfer boards
Hearing aids and other specialist equipment
Meal Preparation & Nutrition
Prepare, cook, and serve meals.
Reheat food safely where appropriate.
Assist with table preparation and clearing.
Ensure safe food storage and infection control practices.
Monitor food safety and dispose of unsuitable food items.
Encourage client involvement and choice where possible.
Household Support
Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment, including:
Vacuuming and sweeping
Washing and putting away dishes
Laundry and clothing care
Bed making and linen changes
Dusting and general housekeeping
Answering doors and greeting visitors
Responding to telephones and emergency call systems
Promoting Wellbeing
Support clients to maintain social engagement and mental stimulation through activities such as:
Meaningful conversation and companionship
Community outings
Reading and writing activities
Looking through photographs and memory work
Hobbies and recreational activities
Record Keeping & Communication
Accurately document and report:
Changes in client wellbeing or care needs
Incidents and emergencies
Communication with family members
Interaction with healthcare professionals and external services
Health & Clinical Support
Support clients during periods of illness, including:
End-of-life care
Hospital appointments
Medication administration
Bed-based personal care
Liaison with community healthcare teams
Working as Part of the Team
Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
Participate in supervision, appraisal, and development reviews.
Complete written reports and care records.
Communicate effectively across multiple platforms and systems.
Follow all Radfield Home Care policies and procedures.
